When connecting to the Bank online,
a safe and encrypted ' session' between your computer
and Banco de Chile is initiated. Once you have finalized
your operations and upon clicking the ' Logout' button,
the safe session with the Banco de Chile server is terminated,
disabling all access to your accounts.
As an additional measure of safety,
an online session with the Bank’s server will
be automatically disconnected after a period of inactivity
of more than 5 minutes. This helps you to avoid, in
the event that you forget to close the session, that
another person can continue operating your account from
the equipment that you were using. Once the session
has been timed out, you will have to reenter your login
and password information to be able to continue operations.
How to verify that the
session with Banco de Chile is being encrypted
The Internet direction (URL) of the page that you are
visiting when the safe session is started will begin
with the "https", instead of "HTTP".
For example, the secure site address of Banco de Chile
is "https://www.bancochile.cl/cgi_bin/".
